Chicago XY Sessions - Jonny

I'm very grateful for the response to my recent open call requesting Chicago men to collaborate together for a chance to be in a magazine publication. This will be my first submission to their Boys series. I'm hopeful that at least one or two people can be selected for print and online editions.

Outside of the publication, I wanted to understand the men and their side in this endless hustle as a Chicago artist. More than anything, I found this experience to be nothing short of heartwarming. There are many amazing artists around Chicago and out of the few I have been lucky to meet, these are their stories.

Jonny, or J-Matrix, is a model/actor. His first time preforming on TV was in the 5th grade for Kid's Got Talent Song and Dance - he performed the song "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65.

J-Matrix is also a dancer. He started out with Latin Dance and Break-Dancing, but soon found himself settling with Pop-Locking. He joined Robot Mafia dance crew in 2011 and in 2012 he found himself in the Electric Funketeers.

As of August, he has been working with the National Street Dance League.
